In line with an agency agreement the Milchprüfring Bayern e.V. tests DHI samples for the parameters fat, protein, lactose, somatic cell count and urea for the LKV. These results are provided to the farmers by the LKV and are taken as a reference for the efficiency rating of single animals. Furthermore these data are important for the estimation of breeding
values and are used for feeding advices. 67 % of all Bavarian farmers take part in these analyses. That means, more than 80 % of all Bavarian dairy cows are analyzed in this way.
The Milchprüfring Bayern e.V. examines annually approximately 9 millions of samples for the Analysis of the Bavarian Dairy Herd Improvement Association (DHI). The samples for the PAG-test are also examined in the laboratory in Wolnzach.
